SEGMENT: Dog
owners who are away from their homes for a long period of time (9+ hours &
days).
CUSTOMER DECISIONS:
After interviewing three dog owners, it appears that customers who would use
this service pick their pet services based on a number of things. The two most
important drivers that the interviewees discussed were pricing and quality of
care/type of boarding. Two of the interviewees also said location would be a
factor in their decision-making process. Another important factor mentioned was
online reviews.
USE OF SERVICES: The transactions for this service would happen at the
resort. Customers would most likely use a credit or debit card to pay. There
would be discounts for extended stays and customers would have the option to
buy a multi-day pack for daycare at a discounted rate.
POST-SERVICE EVALUATION: Customers would evaluate that the service was great by
the happiness and healthiness of their dog. I can tell if my pups had a good
time or not when I pick them up from boarding. I have also picked my pups up
before and one developed “kennel cough” shortly after. I would consider this
not great/bad service.
CONCLUSION: The pet
owners in this segment take many variables into consideration before choosing a
dog resort/daycare to take the dogs to. They evaluate cost, quality, customer
reviews and style of boarding before making their final decision. Customers
also evaluate their post-service decision by the happiness, health and customer
service they/and their dog experienced during the visit.
Hey Danielle,
ReplyDeleteIt was very interesting reading your blog this week when it came to the segment used as well as the different uses of services and post-service evaluation. I agree with you as the results also showed that the owners of the pets take a lot of different segments into consideration before picking a resort or daycare to place their dog in. A key aspect to this all is the post-service decision by the amount of happiness, health, and customer service that they receive during the visit. Overall, this did a good job going more in-depth in regards to the consumers and what these people are considering when choosing a place to put their dog in. Great post and details.
Hi Danielle,
ReplyDeleteI too think that online reviews are very important. Nowadays when searching for places, google reviews and other websites like yelp are a big help for me when searching for services. For example I haven't had to look for dog resorts but I have had to look for daycare for my child and the reviews were a tremendous help. It's my first time hearing that term of kennel cough also, and it doesn't sound too pleasing but now i'm curious to know what it is. Great post!
